Sustainable Fashion Meetup Group

🕐 Wednesday, November 27, 2019

🏢 Zero Waste Hub, 22 Bread Street, EH3 9AF

The fashion industry is now the second most polluting industry in the world after oil.

If you’re interested in learning more about the environmental impacts of our fashion habits and want to help develop sustainable fashion ideas in Edinburgh, then come along and get involved with SHRUB Coop’s Sustainable Fashion working group!

In our meet-ups, we have discussed challenges and solutions to the current fast-fashion industry and planned some exciting projects ahead! This month we will continue to explore and promote sustainable fashion ideas in Edinburgh.

The theme for this month’s Meetup group is Online Shopping.

This will include discussions on air travel, pollution and waste. We could also research some of the main websites (asos, boohoo) and more friendly options such as Patatam, Ebay and Depop to compare the online shopping scene with fast fashion and second hand and how this is changing.
Please do a little bit of research on this before hand so we can share.

Everyone welcome.

There will be snacks, smiles and ideas. So please bring along your enthusiasm, and any interesting facts or ideas you might have.

See you then!

If you are particularly interested in ‘hands-on’ workshops and clothing repair, we also run weekly Sewing and upcycling workshops on Thursdays at 17, Guthrie St, 5-7pm.

SHRUB Coop is supported through a combination of grant funding and generous donations from our community. We’re grateful for all their support. Find out more about our grant funders by clicking on the logos above.
