Inspiring recipes using common Foodsharing finds

Shaking up your weekly meal planning!


Long-time SHRUB volunteer Fergus shares some of the recipes he has come across to make use of common surplus items you can find on our Food Sharing shelves at the Zero Waste Hub or from a Food Sharing collection.

Spanish Tortilla – Potatoes, onions and other veggies

Pesto – herbs (basil, coriander, rocket etc)

Chutney/relish – vegetables, onions, peppers, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes etc

Pickled veggies – beetroot, carrots, peppers etc

Curd – lemons, limes and other citrus fruits

Sofrito (Italian sauce base) – carrots, onions and celery

Mole – vegetable such as parsnips and carrots cut julienne

  • Mole pastes like Kankun are available from Lupe Pintxos

Potato Scones

Potato Latkes

Pea and Mint Soup

Risotto – mushrooms, peas etc
