Zero Waste Festival Volunteer

Outline of the Role

Would you like to join the SHRUB team in creating a Zero Waste Festival in Edinburgh? We are planning a weekend of music, stalls and talks in late September 2019. We are hoping to promote a sustainable lifestyle as well as introducing SHRUB Coop to the wider community. 

Volunteers will gain experience in:

  • Festival promotion and organising 
  • Music coordination
  • Community outreach

Zero Waste Festival volunteers will have to be available from April to October 2019

The role involves:

Reaching out to and answering queries from partners

Managing sign-ups and ticketing systems

Setting up equipment, tools and resources

Updating/preparing and signing risk assessments

Practical Details

  • Where: The SHRUB spaces as and when we organise to meet.
  • When: Fortnightly planning meetings; other work according to the events schedule
  • Hours per week: 1-3 (more when events are on)
  • Development opportunities: Training for the role available. Further training in relevant skills can be arranged if necessary / desired.
