Our Programmes
Cycle Training
Our Cycling Scotland certified courses cater to both adult beginners and current riders.

Absolute beginners
Learn to cycle!

This course is for adults who have never learnt to cycle or are returning to cycling after many years. The session is designed to guide you through the stages of learning to balance and pedal.

We can usually provide a bike and helmet for beginner sessions.

Introduction to on-road cycling
Build confidence for using the road

This course covers the essentials of safe on-road cycling, with lots of quality practice time to build on-road confidence.

The session mainly takes place on quieter roads, shared-use paths and designated cycle lanes.

Advanced on-road cycling
Build confidence for busier and more complex roads

This course is for those who are familiar with the essentials of on-road cycling, but lack confidence with busier roads or complex situations and infrastructure.

The course begins on quiet streets to review skills, followed by a selection of busier locations, with opportunities to observe traffic, cycle with the instructor, and practice alone.

Family Cycle Training
Cycle together with confidence: for leisure, or school runs

This session is aimed at parents and carers cycling with their children. The focus is to equip the whole family with the skills and confidence to cycle together safely as a group.

Cycle Buddies
Cycle Buddies will build your confidence for journeys that matter to you.

You will be matched with one of our volunteers, who can cycle with you for up to five rides. Routes will be suited to your experience and needs.

What can my buddy help with?

Cycling after dark
Support for navigating poorly-lit areas

Your buddy can help find routes with good street lighting, and more confidently navigate darker sections.

Exploring your neighbourhood
